The monument comprises a dun or homestead of prehistoric date. It is being rescheduled to encompass the whole of the most archaeologically sensitive area.
The monument lies on an E-W running spur in woodland, at around 100m OD. It comprises a dun or homestead measuring about 15m in internal diameter, defined by a wall composed of large boulders. The wall, which is best preserved on the S and E sides, measures about 2.5m thick and stands to a height of between about 0.3m and 1m high. A probable entrance is marked by a break in the wall on the E, measuring about 2m wide and flanked by two large boulders on the S side. Structures such as this are characteristic defended homesteads of Iron Age date.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 60m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
