The monument comprises a standing stone of prehistoric date. It is already scheduled, but with an inadequate protected area to cover possible surrounding archaeological deposits.
The stone stands on a fenceline in arable farmland at around 80m OD. It comprises a stone some 1.6m high with several cup marks on its SE face. The stone is recorded as having been part of a former stone circle, comprising some 12 stones and approximately 15m in diameter. Some of these stones are recorded as having been buried near their former positions.
The area to be scheduled encompasses the surviving stone and an area around it in which traces of the former circle and other associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 40m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
