The monument consists of the remains of a prehistoric house.
The house is set on a shoulder, close to the public road, and only 150m SW of another similar example. It is oval and measures 8m NE-SW by 7m transversely. It appears to contain two compartments. The entrance is in the SE side. On the SW side is an oval enclosure of large earth-fast stones measuring 10m by 17m, and there are traces of further fields and clearance cairns in the vicinity.
The area to be scheduled is rectangular, 25m NW-SE by 40m NE-SW, to include the house, enclosure and an area around in which traces of activity associated with their construction and use may survive.

The monument is of national importance as a prehistoric house which may provide, through excavation and analysis, evidence about prehistoric agriculture and domestic economy. It gains additional importance from its membership of a local concentration of remains including at least four houses, a standing stone, a burnt mound and numerous traces of field clearance and walling.
