The monument comprises the remains of a prehistoric burial cairn located close to the edge of high cliffs. The cairn survives as a mound 5.5m across and 0.4m high. Embedded within it are two stone chambers, or cists, at the SW and NE sides of the mound. Both cists are approximately 0.6m by 1m.
The area to be scheduled is a semi-circle of diameter 50m, with the straight side along the cliff edge on the ESE side, to include the cairn and an area around it in which evidence relating to its construction and use may survive, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.

The monument is of national importance as an example of a small burial monument of probable prehistoric date which has the potential to provide information about prehistoric funerary practices.
