Description

Cefn Banog. An oval enclosure, 60.0 M. x 30.0 M., with the remains of 3 hut circles on its perimeter. The hut circles vary from 7.0 to 10.0 M. in diam. 30.0 M. S.W. of the enclosure is a fragment of curving bank. The remains are vague for the most part and disturbed by ploughing. The area immediately around the site is planted with young trees, and any other enclosures or huts would probably have been destroyed.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of Prehistoric settlement. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits. The structures themselves may be expected to contain archaeological information concerning chronology and building techniques.

The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
