Description

The site consists of a couple of standing stones and a low bank in a field which is now more or less rough grazing but may have been improved at some time in the past. Where the bank is best preserved (on the N and NE) it is no more than 30 or 40 cm high, but the whole circumference is nevertheless visible.

The largest remaining standing stone leans markedly to the SW. Another, smaller, stone leans in almost the same direction.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of prehistoric ritual and funerary practises. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits. The structures themselves may be expected to contain archaeological information concerning chronology and building techniques.

The scheduled area comprises the remains described and areas around them within which related evidence may be expected to survive.
