Description

A four-arched bridge of stone over the Afon Goedol, with recesses above the cutwaters. Attributed to Inigo Jones, but no known authority. Date probably 17th century. Unwidened. There are stone seats in the two central recesses. The bridge is 2.3 m wide between the parapet walls, which are 0.5 - 0.6 m high.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of post-medieval transport and construction. It retains significant archaeological potential, with a strong probability of the presence of associated archaeological features and deposits.
