Description

The monument comprises the remains of a rectangular building, which probably dates to the Medieval period. The building stands on a level terrace close to the bank of the River Tawe and measures 10m x 4m. It is divided into two unequal compartments, with two opposed entrances offering access itno the larger compartment. There is a small enclosure to the north of the building and the foundations of three small circular structures which also fall within the scheduled area.

The monument is of national importance for its potential to enhance our knowledge of prehistoric/medieval settlement. The monument forms an important element within the wider prehistoric/medieval context and the scheduled area may be expected to contain a wide range of archaeological information, including chronological detail and evidence in regard to construction techniques and agricultural methods.
