A Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible on aerial photographs as an earthwork. Classified by Grinsell as Aldbourne 8 the barrow has a diameter of 39m, is 3.8m in height and has a 0.6m deep ditch. The barrow was excavated by Greenwell in 1879 who discovered an adult cremation with associated bronze dagger and bone pin in a cist. Other finds were sherds of Bronze Age vessels and flint flakes.
