Notes

The wheel-headed cross by the roadside at Inch has only a short piece of shaft above ground (see illustration). When seen by Baird in 1954 it was very worn and the cross difficult to make out. Langdon considered that the cross was in situ and that much of the shaft was below ground level, but without excavation it is impossible to prove Langdon's contention.
