The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
The cross, situated on St Saviour's Hill, consists of the worn head of a granite Latin cross surmounting a later shaft and base of Pentewan stone. It seems probable that the head of this cross formed part of a Latin cross which stood by St Saviour's Chapel (SX 15 SW 12). The origins of base and shaft are unknown.
