Bronze Age cairnfield on Howdale Moor. Approximately 25 cairns, varying in diameter from approximately 5 to 2 metres, were recorded following a wild fire in 2003 which destroyed the ground vegetation on Howdale Moor. It is possible that some of the larger mounds may be burial mounds.
Just below the cairnfield a couple of hundred yards to the North East is a Standing Stone at NZ 95252 00936 known as the Grey Horse Stone ( photos uploaded ) which may be associated with the cairnfield according to some sources

Regarding the Grey Horse Stone just below the cairnfield it looks like at some stage it has been utilized as a waymarker or guidestone . It has the initials HD and a directional arrow engraved on it . Also below the arrow is the number 19
