A Second World War type 24 pillbox located in Buxted Wood near the railway viaduct. The pillbox was constructed in 1940-41, built of reinforced concrete and brick, and has the identification number A171 marked on the blast wall. A field visit in 1995 found the pillbox extant and in a good condition.
