Notes

A World War Two Spigot mortar base situated in a field to the south of the "Bridge Inn" public house, to the south of the River Bure, to the north-east of Acle and south-east of the bridge. The base is located on the site of the scheduled monument Priory Cell. It was built of concrete and steel and was placed there after May 1941. At the time of the field visit on 27th June 2001 it may have been hidden by a pile of debris. The monument is not publicly accessible.
