Post Medieval pottery kiln identified during excavations on Manor Lodge (SK 38 NE 16). The kiln was found in the hexagonal structure at the north end of the Long Gallery. It had been constructed after the partial demolision of the manor in 1706. The kiln comprised seven flues and had a diameter of 4.27 metres. Pottery produced was similar in forms to the Staffordshire mottled wares of the early-mid 18th century.
