The monument is a very well preserved farmstead and part of a field system of the pre-improvement period. The farmstead comprises the remains of seven rectangular buildings, set on platforms measuring up to 12.9m x 6.7m, cut into the hillside. An eighth building lies c.40m to the NW. A series of banks originating in the settlement and running to the NW indicate the presence of a contemporary field system.
An area measuring a maximum of 215m NW-SE by 155m transversely is proposed for scheduling to include the houses and the field system.

The monument is of national importance because of its good field characteristics, the houses seem well preserved. It is of national importance because of the survival of part of its contemporary field system. It is of national importance to the themes of pre-improvement settlement and economy. It is of particular interest because of the number of structures, there are four settlements of this size in the area. Taken with other farmsteads of this period in the area, it is of national importance to the theme of the development of the pre-improvement landscape.
