The monument comprises an enclosed settlement of prehistoric date, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 25m OD. It comprises a sub-square enclosure some 25m N-S, with a ditch about 2m wide. Cropmarks within the enclosure may indicate the remains of domestic activity. Approximately 40m to the ENE is an amorphous cluster of cropmarks which appear to represent the remains of associated archaeological features.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the visible remains and an area around them within which related material may be expected to survive. It is rectangular with dimensions of 100m WSW-ENE by 60m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
