The monument comprises a stone circle of prehistoric date.
The monument lies within woodland at around 85m OD. It comprises ten large stones set around an area some 7.5m in internal diameter. The stones measure between about 0.4m and 1.8m in height, the tallest being on the S of the circle. Only two of the stones remain upright, but the others seem still to lie where they originally fell.
The monument is one of a number of stone circles in this part of Perthshire, all thought to date to the Neolithic period.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described, and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is a truncated circle with a maximum diameter of 35m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.

The monument is of national importance because of its potential to contribute to our understanding of prehistoric ritual practices. Its importance is increased by its proximity to other monuments of potentially contemporary date.
