The monument comprises a standing stone of Neolithic or Bronze Age date.
The monument stands in woodland some 40m from the W bank of the River Isla. It comprises a standing stone some 2.5m high by approximately 4m around the base.
Such monuments were focal points for ritual practices in the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods.
The area to be scheduled encompasses the stone and an area around it in which traces of associated activity may be expceted to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 20m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
