The monument comprises two standing stones of Neolithic or Bronze Age date. The stones stand on a low natural mound at around 200m OD some 200m E of the River Ardle. The N stone is some 1.5m high with a basal girth of approximately 3.5m. Traces of packing stones are visible at its base. The S stone has a basal girth of approximately 5m and has slumped to one side. The monument is one of a number in Strathardle relating to ritual activity in the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods. The area to be scheduled encompasses the standing stones and an area around them in which traces of associated ritual activity may be expected to survive. It is sub-circular with a maximum diameter of 30m as marked in red on the accompanying map.

The monument is of national importance because of its potential to add to our understanding of ritual activity in the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods. Its importance is enhanced by its association with other monuments of similar age within Strathardle.
