This Post was operational from 1962 to 1968 and is one of about 1500 which were used between 1955 and 1991 . They were built underground with 12 inch thick reinforced concrete mainly in rural areas roughly 10 miles apart.
In the event of a Nuclear War they would have been manned by three men of the Royal Observation Corps to observe the details of any nuclear burst and relay the information back to the authorities
